Construction

The construction methods that we us may be a traditional heavy building technique, or a more modern lightweight construction, but both methods require aligning and conforming with the building regulations. We are well versed in all types of construction at both domestic scale and larger commercial projects.

Traditional heavy building techniques are normally thought of as the bricks and mortar of traditional domestic properties this is not entirely true as some commercial properties are built in the same way, the use of natural stone is another example. The characteristics of a heavy building techniques require extensive foundations and can impact upon the the cost of a building or extension considerably, further considerations are the thermal effects, slow to heat up but retains heat over a longer period.

Lightweight building is the use of lighter materials, the use of lightweight cladding around a supporting structure which is highly insulated. The resulting structures are lightweight needing less foundation requirements are quicker to build and are quick to heat up  but less able to retain heat.
